FAQ

What is a ‘Sprollie’?

A Sprollie is a name for any sort of Spaniel crossed with any kind of Collie. For example, a Cocker Spaniel/Bearded Collie Cross is a bit of a mouthful, we we say “He’s a Sprollie”. The word Sprollie comes form the words “Springer” and “Collie” – joined together they form Sprollie. The reason why it’s Springer instead of Spaniel is because a) it sounds better and b) because the Springer Spaniel/Border Collie cross is the most well known and widespread.

Why do you spell it like that?

Sprollie is spelt that way for some reason that I don’t really know, but I do know it is the correct way. Yes, it is.

Can you spell it another way?

Yes, but then it would be a spelling mistake.

What other ways do people spell it?

Sprolli and Sprolly are the most common spelling mistakes.

Are there any famous Sprollies?

Not that I know of.

Where do you get your pictures?

From all over the place, really. Most of them are found through a good old Google Search, sometimes I ask people on Flickr if I can use their photos, and sometimes I just find stuff and use it straight away. Eventually, I will run out of pictures to steal, so that’s where you come in.

How do I ‘come in’?

You come in by contacting me and sending me your Sprollie pictures/videos/stories. I don’t just want them -  I need them!
